YAESU FT-690Rll SIX METER ALL MODE XCVR Picture(s) and Description:
Yaesu FT-690R2 six meter FM/SSB/CW transceiver in excellent working condition. Enjoy the "Magic Band" with this fun little rig designed for convenient portable, mobile or base operation. This clean radio comes with the following: FL-6020 clip on 10W amp, DTMF hand mike, DC power cord, mobile mounting bracket, and original box and manuals. The portable whip antenna that connects to the BNC connector in the front of the radio is also included, however the antenna is missing the cap at the tip. This radio requires a 13.8vdc 5 amp power supply (not included) for base operation. Portable operation will require the Yaesu FTB-8A battery pack or equivalent. Some notable features include selectable, mode dependent channel steps, dual VFO's, 10 memories for frequency and mode, split frequency operation, repeater offsets, scanning, noise blanker and clarifier control. The power can be switched from 10W to 2.5W, and the radio can be tuned from either the buttons on the microphone or via the front panel control. The front panel is logically laid out and the rig is easy to operate. There are some dual function buttons but they are no big deal & there are no confusing menus like those found on some of today's radios. Note that although this radio has an FM mode & offsets, the optional tone encoder board (FTS-7A) for repeater operation is not included in this radio. Personally I have had no use for it as most of my 6m operation involved SSB during band openings.
