Hiya
There are now a number of dual band antennas on the market , you just have to search.
I believe that they are pretty much the same in design , that is a 1/4 wave UHF section at the bottom , a trap and then the rest of the material above that resonates on 2 meters with a 1/4 wave.
(plz correct me if i'me wrong)
I would only use an antenna like this if I were using the cross band function.
If you are only a 70cm user then you could use a collinear vertical which has a huge amount of gain over a conventional 1/4 wave vertical.http://www.swdxer.co.nr/

There is a host of mobile antennas for dual band radios.
If you want to keep the length short, the 1/4 wave 2 meter antennas will also work for UHF. Not much gain but they work well and do not hit too many objects. If the length is not a concern look at some of the taller gain type dual band whips available. Larson is one of the best brands in the mobile market, but there are many others. Good luck!

I have had good luck with the Larsen NMO 2/70SH antenna. It’s only about 19″ high and works well on both 2 meters and 70 cm. I have mounted to the center of my roof and its works great.
