144 MHz - 2304MHz LINEAR TRANSVERTER (2,160.00MHz L.O.) You are bidding on yet another complete, PROFESSIONALLY built linear transverter / High Power PA for the 13cm band. It is in great working shape, and can be used for portable operation. Made like a tank, mil-spec. in a heavy duty aluminum enclosure with a generous heathsink, has all the switching & metering circuitry necessary. The receive chain is using a very low noise HEMT amplifier to a high level double balanced mixer from ANRITSU and a low noise WATKINS JOHNSON IF amplifier stage. Same mixer is used on transmit. It is adjusted for 1W drive on 144MHz for ~75W power output and any drive power between 50mW and 25W can be accommodated. (For lower drive power user can bypass the built in 20dB/25W input attenuator). The PA module uses the state of the art MRF5P20180 from Freescale, rated 180W! The 2160.0MHz L.O. uses a very high stability digitally compensated TCXO on 14.400000MHz and multiplier. It goes thru a buffer isolating amplifier to the DBM. It delivers good phase noise on 2160MHz, great for weak signal SSB operation. The PA has a built in isolator for total protection, RF output power metering and is fully serviceable. The block diagram is here. This transverter can also make a great setup for EME work. It weighs in at ~ 5Kg due to the big heathsink. Any power supply of 20-28V@>10A can be used with it. You don't see SSB 13cm band VERY HIGH POWER equipment on eBay often, I hope it will be used wisely. I am sure the winner will enjoy high performance operation from this unit for many years to come.
